Photoshop Op...
by oppostate inwouldn't it be great to see the big 8, wel the big 8 in the jw world not the national leaders big 8, ehem.. if they would all grow a beard for the next business meeting in october, where the nu-lite(r) is that beards are ok for men.. could someone photoshop one of the prevalent new smiley photos of the gb and put a few weeks of whisker growth on them?.
just wondering what it would look like.
not duck dynasty length, perhaps, but nicely trimmed full beards, or maybe goatees.. what do you think it would look like?

An Unsettling Experience
by snowbird inin the year 2011, i was very ill with severe anxiety and panic attacks.. my psychiatrist prescribed two potent anti-depressants.. one day, when i was all alone, i heard a distinct voice say, "there are knives in the kitchen - small, medium, and large ...".
the voice trailed off, but the meaning was clear: use one of those knives on yourself!.
my niece in atlanta reported a similar experience when she was prescribed the same anti-depressants following a stillborn delivery.. i'm curious.. has anyone else experienced something like this?.

Yes. I was prescribed Zoloft, and was pretty optimistic since I personally knew someone who was greatly helped by it. After several days on a very low dose, I felt like crap. I felt like I was going more crazy than I has been at first. Then one day, within a week of starting the stuff, about the middle of the day, I heard a voice from within me distinctly say, "You really need to kill yourself and get this over with." I had never, even in my darkest hours, ever heard/ experienced anything like that before. Needless to say, I was off Zoloft the next day.

Drama: Not ONE word has failed! Regional Convention 2014
by OneDayillBeFree inlooks like the borg spent all it's money on hd panels, gigabit internet connections and ipads cause this is by far the lamest and most stupid drama ever in the history of the org!.
apart from the worse than porn-without-the-porn acting and dialogue, the special effects consist of square painted panels and a crappy blue screen.
also the lighting looks like it was made using flashlights.. even the die hards we're laughing at it and mentioned how silly it looked.. i envy all of those that aren't attending this "historic 100-years-since-christ's-reign" convention.. .

it's not like i wasn't warned.
there was a thread that talked about the push to call on inactive ones.. thanks to the heads up here, i knew the motive for the call.. i don't think i even know that eld.

Misquote in the Creation Book
by ILoveTTATT inmy dad came into the jw's because someone studied the "creation" book with him.
it pains me deeply that he sent me an e-mail recently saying that to keep the peace with my mom, he will stop communicating with me as much as possible.
i should communicate with him only if i have an emergency.. it upsets me to no end, but i cannot do anything or much about it.

Congregation Pledge Disgusted Elder
by rrb2016 inat the meeting the other night, the elder who had to read the announcements, which included the $$ info for the new donation arrangement seemed downright disgusted as he read the announcements and asked for the vote.
he said, "well, here is another organizational change" as he read the letter about the discontinuation of the 2nd meeting during co visit.
then after they voted, he said if you have any questions ask this other elder as if he wanted nothing to do with it.

The numbers for the monthly payment being reported on this board seem quite low: $300, $500. . . . . I hardly think this is what watchtower had in mind when this letter went out. I wouldn't doubt if the elders will be "encouraged" to increase their donations into the $1000 range (or higher) by the CO or additional correspondance from HQ.
